XLR-V at a Lincoln dealer, they dont sell anything close to that. Hope they got a 400hp conti because clearly they dont mind spending too much on something weird.
Also reminds me of earlier this year seeing a Smart car at Dodge and Ram dealer. I’m clarifying that they don’t sell Fiats. The smallest car they could have gotten is Charger right?
People are weird.

*yes Im assuming they bought something new from the dealer
Now just for fun -

I’ ve seen this just once, ever.
Are they better than the Corvette they’re based on?

The 400 hp Continental 3.0 EcoBoost AWD hits 60 in 5.2 iirc. I’d totally have one.

Yes and no. The engine isn’t as much fun, the the hardtop convertible aspect is nice. They’re more plush with a softer ride. That said, it’s a C6 frame, so you’re a direct swap away from having the best of both worlds.

Sadly no. A uto only and the interior for being a 100k Cadillac isn’t good.

I heard they are floppier

The interior could have been better, but I still love those things.

The xlr was such a good idea, done so badly.

Oh yea ... its just that it is decidedly not a convertible or coupe.

They could have got a Dart if it was a few years ago. There’s also the possibility that they traded it in on some misc used car that was also a trade in and not necessarily something in the Dod ge or Ram fleet.

Same, the styling is so simple/dramatic. I t’d be cool since they’re cheaper now to manual swap one.

I need eye bleach. I actually love the exterior, but that interior is horrendous. Tied for the 996 911 ford explorer style interior haha

They should try again with the C8 chassis. They do have their own V8 again.

It was for sure just a few months ago and I just want to believe they got a car twice as long and immediately failed at parallel parking it somewhere.

Do you think the driving dynamics would make the swap interesting enough to be worth it? These things were set up as cruisers.

Yea Cadillac just wasn’t ready yet. Same model year SL kills it.

I hate to say it but if Ca dillac wants to survive it needs to put it all on electrification and SUV’s and stop mucking about in sedans and coupes.

All the time. One of our semi-rural Ford dealers had a ‘15 BMW 760Li for a while. That was confusing.

Probably not .. but my interest would turn into genuine want if it had one.

Or they accidentally bought it at auction. “ Lot 476, shit, I wanted lot 467! Oh, well I’m sure we can move a Caddy at the Lincoln place."

This, but in a Challenger .

Im falling asleep looking at that interior .

I do have a soft spot for them, it was built on the then previous gen of Vette chassis right? Why specifically do you think it was done badly? Is it because of using that old chassis or are there other glaring problems?

man, it’s not far off from being decent though, some nicer finishes and something other than an L-shape / right-angle from climate/radio stack to the transmission tunnel.
And damn... Just noticed that beige expanse that is the passenger side of the dashboard.

But halo products are always nice.
FWIW the CT4 is just a refreshed ATS and they are dropping the CT6. Hopefully they’re being smart about SUV development.

I’d take the XLR. Maybe the Continental as a family hauler.

Rural? Maybe they got a repair bill and went back to “ luxury” truck life.

My old boat was a 1989 Supra inboard ski boat with a big ol’ Ford 351 V8 making 240hp and a lot of noise. I bought it from the inventory of our marina where it had been traded in on... a pontoon boat. The couple that did that trade got divorced some time shortly thereafter. Coincidence? I think not.

It doesnt scream sporty to you?! Look at that V badge on the floor mat, so much sport.

Yea its just a generation behind. You are spot on though, the L radio stack / console interaction fucking dates it. But FWIW this came out at the end of the XLR’s life, in their cheapest car. Seeing that on the lot then choosing to spend double on an interior that came out in 2003 is a choice, lol.

Maybe the floating party platform was to get some excitement into the marriage. It either didn't work or worked too well.

what’s the best part of any Vette? engine,
trans and suspension. what are the things Cadillac changed: engine, trans and suspension. plus added weight and an interior that wasn’t an improvement.

That is a very common theme
throughout the history of Cadillac
